History of Plastic Industries

Carr Management, Inc. began in 1999 as a privately held family business with three HDPE blow-molding facilities in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic serving the specialty beverage, dairy, water, juice and industrial chemical markets. In 2012, Carr Management acquired Plastic Industries, a 30 year old West Coast and Midwest HDPE blow-molder. This acquisition further strengthened the Company’s leading industry position providing a national footprint with seven state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities across the United States. In 2017, we added our eighth manufacturing location with the addition of our new facility in Janesville, Wisconsin. Another acquisition in 2017 of Paragon Packaging adds 2 additional locations for a total of 10 manufacturing facilities.

Carr Management, Inc. has now changed the company name to Plastic Industries, Inc.

Adding the three Plastic Industries locations allowed us to better serve our food and industrial chemical customers with manufacturing sites in Fresno, California; Corona, California and Hebron, Kentucky and complemented our existing locations in Newark, Delaware, Reading, Pennsylvania and Poland, Maine. Since that time, we have successfully expanded our product line to include automotive aftermarket and health care bottles. All of our facilities utilize state-of-the-art equipment that produces custom and stock bottles in a variety of shapes and sizes. Whether it is for small local customers or for national industrial, nutraceutical and food service customers, we provide the same high-quality, cost competitive products that consistently meet our high standards. We service a range of applications including drinkable yogurt, syrups and flavorings, sauces, dressings, cooking oils, powdered meal enhancements, nutritional supplements, as well as household, automotive and industrial cleaning products.

Hillside Plastics whose roots date back to 1967 in Sunderland, MA, relocated to its current location in Turners Falls, MA in 1993. The addition of Hillside provides Plastic Industries with a complementary product offering and enables access to new customers and markets. As a unified manufacturing company sharing a common culture, we are adopting the Plastic Industries name and will continue producing high quality HDPE containers and canisters for the Specialty Beverage, Food / Food Service, Healthcare, Industrial / Household Cleaners and Automotive Aftermarkets. We offer a wide selection of blow-molded products, and our custom-design services and mold making capabilities enable us to create packaging that is cost effective and tailored to fit your specific needs.
