The company was founded in October 1956 by Adolf Liebherr and Guido Ketterer in Freiburg, South Baden.
From the first company headquarters in small offices on the outskirts of Freiburg's old town, the company grew steadily in the following years. This expansion made several relocations necessary, since 1988 they have been based in Gündlinger Straße in the industrial estate Haid in the west of Freiburg with our headquarters.
