Timi Plastics Inc

TIMI Plastics, based in Towanda, Pennsylvania, was established in 1982 as a division of Towanda Iron & Metal Inc. to handle a void in the marketplace for the recycling of a variety of plastic materials.  TIMI derived its name from the first letters of its parent company’s name.


 


    In 1982, TIMI Plastic’s main purpose was to work closely with many large plastic manufacturing operations and their recycling efforts.  TIMI’s introduction into plastic film came while working with DuPont Corporation to find homes for many of their film products that were being disposed of in many local landfills.  TIMI became DuPont’s recycler for many of their customers in the Northeast.
