RheTech A HEXPOL Company History


1968


RheTech is founded in Detroit, Michigan


1970’s


In 1970, RheTech relocates to the current site in Whitmore Lake, Michigan to allow for future expansion.


RheTech’s core business model is grinding, blending, and brokering scrap parts from local plastic molders.


1980’s


RheTech transitions its business strategy to becoming a custom plastic compounder.


RheTech gains a foothold in the automotive market by securing approvals to specifications and developing new compounds, including olefins and engineered resins to meet automotive needs.


RheTech begins transitioning from single screw extrusion technology to twin screw extrusion technology to improve product quality and consistency. Warehouse and bulk storage capacity are added to accommodate the growth of the business. [Details]
