For nearly 40 years, Volk Enterprises has been a leader in supplying value-added packaging materials to the meat and poultry industries. Originally founded by Tony J. Volk, a pioneer in poultry processing techniques, the company continues as a leader in packaging items that benefit meat, poultry and fish processors, as well as the average consumer. Since the 1960 invention of the Hok Lok, an original turkey trussing device, to the Pop-Up Timer and Cook'd Right Sensor, Volk has been dedicated to manufacturing products that are economical, convenient and safe. From a pocketful of ideas and three employees, it has grown to a business that employs more than 100 individuals and serves nearly 50 states and approximately 15 international countries. Its subsidiary, Safety Today, allows it to move beyond food processing into the arenas of industrial, workplace and employee safety, as well as food service hygiene and sanitation systems.
