Solvay Advanced Polymers, a wholly owned subsidiary of Solvay America, was formed in November 2001 by combining the company s existing line of engineering polymers with those acquired from BP Amoco. This combination of assets created a new participant in the high performance plastics industry. Its product line consists of amorphous, semi-crystalline and ultra-high performance polymers. These products are able to meet a variety of challenges posed by high temperatures, mechanical stresses and aggressive chemical environments present in a number of diverse markets that include the aerospace, automotive, electronics, food service, industrial equipment, medical, plumbing and water purification industries.
